Camp Tzadi Badges
Summary: Camp Tzadi is First Fruits of Zion’s Messianic Jewish summer camp. It focuses on a unique combination of community, faith, meet like-minded peers, and make lasting friendships in a supportive environment.
When creating these badges, the theme of a tree was mandatory, with the five divisions of ages being BUD, SPROUT, BRANCH, TREE, and CEDAR, for the counselors.
The idea behind this project: The growth of a tree. The kids begin their journey at camp at the age of 12, and as they grow into the next age bracket, they collect the next badge. Ultimately becoming a “full tree” and then a Cedar, to which they can then pass on their knowledge and counsel the next generation.
Keeping in mind the progression of maturity in how we age from adolescence to adulthood, I used the visual imagery of a bud sprouting, growing branches, gaining height, then finally reaching its full maturity as a Cedar.

The badges were used in a national promo video to promote
involvement between the parents and the young adults.
