The Humanity Game
The Humanity Game is an AIGA Flux and a National American Advertising Federation award winning publication. The concept behind the book is human connection between the American culture and the disconnect with the Islamic culture. Within the publication, the American culture is represented by the “bulkier “ string, made with more strands than it needs. While the Islamic culture is represented by the thread, a seeming fragile “string” until bound with its brethren, creating an unbreakable line.
The publication was made to challenge our thinking on connection. How do we as people surpass the boundaries of stereotypes and race to really connect with people? On each page you will see different words of “connection” binding the two types of string together.
Lastly, the small black and white images throughout the pages represent the small pieces of information we learn about each other over time, leading up to the full picture showcased by an installation. The KNOWING installation points to the truth, that we never fully know a person’s reality until we take the time to unbiasedly find out.
